Dashboard Confessional - Again I go unnoticed - Legendado

This previous song represents how Ophelia feels about hamlet. This part is show in the second stanza of the song. She just wants to imagine that Hamlet is having a bad time and that the person he is acting to be is not the real Hamlet. Ophelia is willing to abandon everything for his love but, she does not want to be with a person who is mad and not like she wants.  In the third stanza of the song we can see that Ophelia is missing Hamlet's love. She had an encounter with Hamlet and is missing him. Ophelia feels she is losing Hamlet and for that reason she needs a goodbye kiss. That will seal their love and will confirm that Hamlet is coming back to her. Ophelia needs Hamlet's love because without it she is nothing. Hamlet uses Ophelia, for him she is like an object.

Ophelia finds out Hamlet killed her father.

Ophelia finds out Hamlet killed her father.

Ophelia feels devastated when she finds out Hamlet killed Polonius. Ophelia thinks Hamlet betrayed her. Ophelia loved Hamlet, she had even argued with her father (Polonius) because of Hamlet. Ophelia now doubts about everything Hamlet has ever said to her, she thinks he never loved her. But she does not know Hamlet did loved her but because he had recently realized that his mother's second marriage is only a betrayal of love and of everything that is noble in life, he was scared and did not wanted a fake marriage.
Ophelia feels that all the people who were important to her were all gone, her dad that now is dead and Hamlet who she thinks never loved her. But there is nothing Hamlet can say to justify or explain the death of Polonius.
We chose the song “Who knew” by Pink because the lyrics relates to what Ophelia is feeling towards Hamlet, she is really disappointed and feels used.
“You took my hand
You showed me how
You promised me you'd be around”

And this next verse relates to how Ophelia thought her dad was wrong when he warn her about Hamlets intentions.

"When someone said count your blessings now
'fore they're long gone
I guess I just didn't know how
I was all wrong
They knew better
Still you said forever
And ever

Who knew"

Ophelia and Hamlet

Ophelia and Hamlet.

Ophelia and Hamlet are in a relationship, but is this true love? We know Ophelia loves Hamlet, but does Hamlet truly feels the same way about her? Hamlet could be lying and maybe he will later leave her when she is no longer beneficial to his plans.
Everyone is against Ophelia and Hamlet’s relationship. Polonius tells Ophelia that Hamlet is using her but she does not believe him and ignores what ever he has to say about him.
Even though everyone is against that relationship, there are events that show that Hamlet did love Ophelia but because his revenge and everything going on he had to act like he did not love her. Hamlet has decided to act like he is mad, he pretends he does not love Ophelia anymore; he even rejects her and insults her (Act 3, scene 1). This, of course, means that he has been in love with her before, has let her think that she was loved. Her pain is then worse. But all of this confusion is because Hamlet doesn't know what he's going to do yet.

We chose the song “Two more lonely people” by Miley Cyrus because it relates to what Ophelia feels and what she wants to hear from Hamlet.
“I need to feel your heartbeat
When you say you love me
I don't want to hear it

If it's something that you don't mean”

Ghost

Ghost

The Ghost in Hamlet is Hamlet’s dead father. Maybe Hamlet Sr is appearing as a ghost because he wants to haunt Claudius for marring his wife and Queen Gertrude for marring his brother. The ghost wants revenge for his death and also wants to tell his son Hamlet who was responsible for his death.
Maybe the ghost as dad is only in Hamlet's imagination. Even though the guards and Horatio can see the ghost it does not mean he can communicate with them. Hamlet's the only one who has a dialogue with it. Has Hamlet been imagining his conversations with the ghost the whole time, maybe he is so desperate and confused he creates images and thinks the ghost is telling him what to do.
We chose the song Karma Killer by Robbie Williams because it talks about bad people who forget all the things they do and they will have to pay for them.

“You've been naughty...very very naughty
Are you cut up
Or do you easily forget
Are you still around
Why haven't you managed to die yet

You could prop up the bar in hell.”

Queen Gertrude

Queen Gertrude

Queen Gertrude is Hamlet’s mother, a widow, and married to Claudius (Hamlet’s Uncle). Gertrude seems selfish, shallow, and thinks only about her body and external pleasures. We see how she likes to use fine clothes, sexuality and royalty. Hamlet is angry with his mother, because she married her husband's brother. Hamlet resents his mother because he feels she got over her husband's death far too quickly. Gertrude’s love for Claudius seems genuinely but we do not know if she does it because she feels lonely or because maybe marring Claudius made her feel safe. Hamlet and we as readers also do not know if she knows that Claudius is a criminal. Gertrude cares more about herself and her status than about her son and that makes her relationship with Hamlet be unstable. We chose the song Boston by Augustana as an example of what Hamlet feels towards Queen Gertrude (his mom).

Hamlet Kills Polonius

Hamlet kills Polonius.

Hamlet wants to kill Claudius to punish him for killing his father (Hamlet Sr), but it does not goes as he planned. The death of Polonius. The ghost is trying to pursue Hamlet to kill Claudius saying that he will pay for the murder when he is dead because he will go to hell. So Hamlet decided to kill Claudius for revenge over him killing his dad. Hamlet thought it was Claudius, his uncle behind the curtain, but he was wrong. If he knew it was Polonius, he wouldn't have killed him. Hamlet is worried because he thinks that for killing Polonius something bad will happen to him. This relates to the song 42 by Coldplay.

¨Those who are dead are not dead

They’re just living in my head
And since I fell for that spell
I am living there as well ¨

Claudius

Claudius is The King of Denmark, he is Hamlet’s uncle, and the villain of the play, He is respected but Claudius manipulates others to do what he wants them to do.  Claudius killed his brother and he has an arrogant attitude but sometimes he shows signs of guilt and human feelings. Claudius is married with Hamlets mom (Queen Gertrude), and she defends him even to her son. Claudius relates to the song because somehow Claudius learns to live with the guilt of killing his brother but sometimes he does feel bad, so he asks for divine forgiveness.
“Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe. it's not too late

To learn how to love, and forget how to hate”
